power trim problem

I was out fishing today and while running and gunning in some pretty rough water my trim stopped working. could not raise or lower the motor. I checked the trim switch on the steering wheel, side of the motor and on the front deck and got no sound or response. I checked all the switches for power with a test light and they were all getting power to them. I checked the wires going to the trim motor it self and they were getting power also. I took it as the power trim just took a crap on me since its 11 years old. could there be any other issues that I can look for before ordering a new trim motor ? and witch motor should I get? It's for a 94 Evinrude 3 liter limited edition that hangs on the back of a 94 champion.

Sounds like you need a trim motor.

I know Rusty is'nt going to like this, but here I go. If the trim motor is bad and you have to replace it, hunt around for an electric motor shop, that may have the motor. I had an old 80 model 115 Evinrude and the trim motor went out. Dealers wanted $200.00 and I got one from an armature shop for $120.00 shipping and all.
