I’m looking at a 2002 FICHT, 150 hp. Based on what information I could find in this forum, it appears that 2002 is the first year that BRP produced this engine and addressed whatever the issues were that causes many people to not like this technology. Can anyone confirm this? Is there something particular that I should be looking for when evaluating this particular engine?
If quality depends on manufacturer, i.e. Bombardier v. OMC, how do I know that Bombardier manufactured the 2002 (if this was the first year they did so) or whether the engine was a leftover from the final OMC manufacturing runs.
Do you have any insight that you could share?
