    Tachometer ground wire......

I want to circumvent all my current possible grounds for my digital tachometer because of ongoing erratic readings. What is the right gauge and type of wire to use for a ground wire going directly from the tach to the negative post on the battery? Thanks and Happy Easter!

    Bob,
14ga. wire will do the trick but 12 ga. isn't going to hurt a thing. Marine strand wire.

Thanks Lee, where does the signal come from on this motor, the ECU? I may also hook up an analog tach just to see if the needle jumps around. Sure wish I could get this thing resolved.

Yes, from the computer which recieves the signal from the crank position sensor.
