    trailer light question

Have wesbar lights, blew a bulb and have found the replacement module for it. On the current one there is a quick disconnect on the tail light. Basically one male, and one female on each piece. Handy little item, but the replacement module doesn't come with it. I haven't gotten the old module off yet to see if I need a replacement disconnect, but almost positive I will.

Anyone have any good tips on getting a carriage bolt to quit turning with the damn nut without screwing the threads all to hell and having to cut it off?

Is it rusted? I've had luck heating bolts to get them apart if I understand the way your thinking.

Not badly rusted. Damn bolt is turning when I turn the nut, its a round head carriage bolt, and can't get anything on the head of it to keep it from turning. Guessing I'm going to have to put some vice grips on the threads and turn it off with a wrench.

Don't really want to hose up the threads, as it doesn't look like it will come out of the light assembly without breaking the base. Can always buy a whole new tail light, but would rather just buy the bulb assembly.

Dremmel a slot in it for a screw driver. It probably won't take much to hold it. Use some PB Blaster on the threads.

Got it off with some gentle persuasion.
