How will an engine run if one or more of the float levels are too high or too low? 1997 Johnson 130, 130TXAUM, converted to 20".

I am still trying to resolve my problem with the motor quitting when you first start it up after it is warm. I have determined that it is getting too much gas vs. not enough. It seems to happen when it gets really warm out. I have tried adjusting the air screws, but I really don't think that is the problem, as I have taken this route in the past with no luck. I rebuilt the carbs a couple of years ago.

If I pull the plugs after it quits on me, would that tell me which of the cylinder(s) is getting too much gas? If so, do I just adjust the air screw on this carb to reduce the amount of gas at idle? The motor starts right up, but when it idles down, sometimes it just quits. It will start right up again. The idle is set a 600 RPM. I have tried setting the idle higher, but it doesn't help.

Also, being that this is a carbed motor, how much of an effect does the tilt/trim angle have on how well it runs?
