How about some pros and cons on a "hot foot"

Considering a new boat and the boat I am looking at has a hot foot. Any help on it would be great.

Personally I would feel very unsafe driving a bassboat now without a hot foot. Definitely a safety feature. Once you have one you'd never go back.

Sorry....can't think of any "Con's". I have always thought the Hot Foot should be manditory on Bass Boat and other high performance rigs same as the Kill Switch. Just my .02

Try to make sure they put an adjustable mounting plate under it. That way you can adjust for a tall driver or a short one. Long runs with a pedal that is way out of adjustment is a sure cramp. But all the guys are right the safety of a pedal is a must.

This is my first boat with one. I will never again own a boat without one! It did not take long to get use to using it once you use one will never want any thing but.

I would not have a boat without one.On long runs your leg might get tired & if you make long runs, before you buy the boat, get the new hot foot that has cruse controll put on it.

Re: How about some pros and cons on a "hot foot" (tincanj)

My Triton is the first boat that I've owned with a hotfoot. At first I didn't like it. Since I'm a slow learner, it took me three times out with the boat to get used to it, by that I mean docking the boat. On the water running around its a breeze. Now I wouldn't want it any other way. I think its easier to dock with it now that I figured it out. It is definitely a safety device. The only complaint I have at all is that on long long runs, my leg gets tired.
