Problem with my 2005 HPDI 225 (rough idle)

'05 225 HPDI has started idling rough, not when in neutral, but when you just slide it into gear and not step on the hotfoot at all. Like when you put it into forward to idle away from the boat dock it is rough. It's got a bad vibration, surging and sometimes it even immediately goes dead when you put it into gear. Also, when you pull it back into neutral the RPM's remain higher than normal. If you tap the hotfoot just a little and give it a little bit of gas, after it revs just a little the RPM's return to normal and the idle returns to normal.

Other than that, it's running fine at all other speeds and RPM's. Any ideas??

I've seen a few do this sometimes. A couple of my friends will trim the motor up a bit before the next attempt to restart and until the motor idles normally. Does seem to work for them. Almost seems as if their motors are flooding before they trim them up.
