90hp Yamaha 4stroke versus 90hp etec for pontoon

I am buying a new pontoon boat and had my mind made up on a yamaha, the dealer started discussing e-tec.

So, my question is should i go etec? Can folks explain some differences. I know the 4 stroke is heavier, etc. But I keep "hearing" the yamaha maintenance is $$$.

I have a honda 4 stroke for fishing and love it. Do the maintenance myself.

I have a 4-stroke Yamaha 90 hp on my pontoon and it has performed flawlessly for the 4 years since I puchased it. Only changed the oil at the end of every season so far.

That's what I have seen with my honda.

What size pontoon do you have? I pulled the trigger on the yamaha. Thanks for the advice.
