Hey Guys,
Just bought a brand new yamaha vmax 300 and got a couple of questions. First off, I'll be storing the engine for the winter indoors prior to installing it in the spring, now where it is being stored, it may or may not be heated, but if it isn't do I still have to do some winterizing of the engine? Is it necessary for a brand new, never used engine?
Also, I'll be storing my boat (1999 Triton Tr21) at the same place too. The boat currently has a quarter tank of gas. The gas has been in the tank since June and has not been used. Has the gas gone bad? And if so will STA-BIL and filling up the tank make the gas good again or do I have to remove the gas from the tank? I really don't want bad gas getting into my new motor in the spring and would love to avoid that at all cost.
And lastly, I'm looking to install an hydraulic jack plate too in the spring and I've heard an 8 inch for my boat is what I need. I'm tore between a Bob's and a T&H Marine Atlas, What do you guys recommend? Also I currently have a 25 T1 prop, should I be using that pitch prop or go up to a 27? The boat is pretty heavy with 3 group 31 batteries and one 24 group agm (that is heavy for its size) and I heard a lower pitch prop is better for heavier loads.
Help would be greatly appreciated
