2009 Yamaha 225 ?????

Folks... I have a new 2009 Yamaha 225 on my 2009 Skeeter ZX225... I am running the oil down low so I can start running Synthetic oil... I have a friend who has a Amsol dealership... My questions are as follows.....
What type Amsol do I order to run in that motor?
Is it worth it to run the amsol?
What plus are there to running Amsol Oil?
ALso should I replace the lower unit oil also at the 10 hour check up?
Any other plus or negatives to running the Amsol Syntectics?

BTW I am very close to the 10 hour usage on the motor...
I hope you guys can educate me on Synthetic Oils

Thank you very much...
Have a great day

Can't say anything about Amsoil...by I run Penzoil Full Synthetic in my Yamaha and it works fine...I think better than Yamalube...

just make sure that Yamaha will honor the warranty if you dont use Yamalube. My buddy got a new 20i and wanted to run the Amsol. He was informed that Yamaha wouldnt back if he didnt run Yamalube...I could be wrong tho

The warranty is what you have to worry about. Did Amsol ever get their oil certified TCW3?

If the oil you choose to run in your Yamaha is TCW 3 then you can run it.I'm not sure about Amsol.

Last i knew Amsoil was NOT TCWIII certified. If not Yam will NOT honor warranty. It may be now, but i would check if i were you. Not just "Suggested for engines requiring TCWII" but actually stating that it is certified.

Thanks guys... looks like it's Yamalube for me as my engine has a 6 year warranty on it and definately don't want to void it!!!!!!!!!!

not true, yamaha cant require you to use only their oil..
read your manual, it will prolly state to use yamalube. or other TCW3 certified oil.
amzoil is good stuff but not TCW3.

I sent Amsoil an email asking if the HP Injector oil is TCWIII certified and they replied with yes it is. Looking at their website it says it is also. Copy this link into your browser for it to come up.

No it is not TCW3 certified.... They do however use lawyer jargon to make you think it is. Most Amsoil dealers think it is from the wording on the bottle... Read it slowly.

"Recomended for TCW3 applications" BTW, I used it for 4-5 years and liked it. But I was out of warranty.

Look here for it>>> http://www.nmma.org/certification/programs/oils/

Here is the response from Amsoil

[I]Dear Mr. Whitman;

Thank you for giving AMSOIL the opportunity to answer your email.

In response to your questions; The HP Injector oil(HPI), is TC-W3 certified. This is stated in our literature on the AMSOIL website.

Thank you again for contacting AMSOIL and if you have further questions, please feel free to contact us again via email or over the phone with the Technical Services department.

I have a 2008 Yamaha 225HPDI 2 stroke outboard. I want to run your HP Injector oil but I'm afraid it will void my Yamaha warranty if its not TCWIII rated. Is the HP Injector TCWIII rated? I am firm believer in synthectic oils and want to run them however I don't want to void my factory warranty.

+1000000000000000000

been using penzoil for YEARS easy to find and get and works great for a good price, and it will NOT VOID your Motor Warranty

also I would change the LU oil just to make sure there is nothing going wrong down there
