I went out today and at the ramp noticed it was hard to shift into reverse off the trailer. I got it in reverse and the idled out of the marina. When I went to get up on a plane it was like I had spun hub on the prop unable to go anywhere. I know it is possible to have two problems at ounce but am woondering if I amhaving problems shifting into gear if that is my problem not the hub. I came home and took the lower unit off and when I shift manualy at the base of the unit it is hard to do. When the lower unit is off the gear selector shifts like normal. When I do get the lower unit in gear the prop spins easily and everything seems fine. I guess what im asking is, do i have a problem in the shifting mechanism in the lower unit and can it be fixed or do I have both a broke lower unit and a spun hub?
