Took my boat out for the 2nd time today. 1st. time was about 3 weeks ago and the motor started up at the first try everytime. Ran it for about 2 hours according to break-in procedure. Took it out today to do alittle fishing. Had to try it 4-5 times at the ramp to get it started. Ended up holdin in on the hotfoot to give it some throttle and it then started and ran fine. Went to a couple different spots and each time I would have to give it throttle before it would fire, the time in between the last shut off and starting it back up was probably 1 hour or so. Is this normal? My last boat had a carb'd VMax 150hp and had to be choked to get it to start at first but always fired right up after that without giving it any throttle? Anyone else have this problem? I did notice while trying to start it at the dock my fish finder showed "low battery voltage", however the motor was cranking over good. I kinda figure that may be part of or the whole problem. Got the batteries on charge now, they hadn't been charged since I picked the boat up around Dec. 6th. The voltmeter would show a little less than 12 volts with the key in the "on" position and around 14 volts with the engine running.
