    Spark Plug Gap & Indexing

I have a 2004 Yami 225 HPDI and need to know if anyone has experience with indexing spark plugs and have you noticed a difference?
I am confused about the spark plug gap, the owners manual says on page 4-1 the gap should be .059-.062in,BKR6EKU plugs, however the service manual on page
3-19 says .035-.039in,BR9H-10 plugs. The chin decal on the engine says 0.5-0.7mm, BKR6EKU plugs which is less then .030in. Any inputs from you experiences owners? Please call me toll free at 1-888-697-9488 or e-mail. Talked to Yamaha yesterday and they tell me to follow the gap spec. on the decal on the motor chin pan. I can't believe 0.5-0.7mm on a hi-voltage ignition system. Im going with .050in.
    Thanks
    Jon

    Call HydroTech... http://www.yamaha-rebuild.com/

They know more than any manual.

That is weird. What does the NGK decal on the chin cowling under the hood say? Maybe there's some problem in the translation department when the manuals are getting edited.

Owners manual is correct. Looks like the service manual you are referring to is incorrect. Maybe the service manual refers to the spark plug prior to the BKR6EKU update.

you are correct about the plug number in the service manual which is BR9H-10, however, the chin decal says 0.5-0.7mm which is in conflect with the owners manual???
