Cotter pin part number 306394 can be picked up at your local BRP dealer.![]()

On V-6 Johnson and Evinrudes, the # 309955 cotter pin has a bit larger diameter than the smaller #306394 pin and gives a more secure fit thru the prop shaft and keeper.
"Bring it on, Rusty" This could turn into another QL78YC sparkplug debate !![]()

Tony,
Years ago most homes had fuse boxes instead of circuit breakers. The fuses were short glass tipped items with treads like a light bulb. When they "blew" and you did not have any more, you put a penny underneath one and screwed it back. The copper penny was a "shunt" to make the electricity flow but without any current protection. A lot of houses burned down from that. From that comes the American expression for anything dangerously fixed, "A penny in the fusebox type of repair"

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.
