    Electrical Question For Don

Quite a few years ago I had the oil injection system removed from my 1998 2.5 liter 200 hp motor. (reman, no serial # plug and on different mid). At the same time the electronic advance module and others were removed and timing manually set to 23 degrees. (conservative due to cut heads). There are a number of disconnected wires that I have always wondered about, although the motor runs very well. They are: (1) a short female red with white stripe wire coming off the switch box, (2) a female gray with white stripe wire on the top right side, (3) a male blue wire on the top right side, (4) a male red with white stripe wire on lower right side, and (5) a male white with black stripe wire on the lower right side.

Are any of these wires supposed to be connected elsewhere ?? The only problem with the motor since these were disconnected is both voltage regulators were replaced about a year ago.

Re: Electrical Question For Don (rwires)

<table width="90%" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 align=center><tr><td>Quote, originally posted by rwires &raquo;</td></tr><tr><td class="quote"> They are: (1) a short female red with white stripe wire coming off the switch box, (2) a female gray with white stripe wire on the top right side, (3) a male blue wire on the top right side, (4) a male red with white stripe wire on lower right side, and (5) a male white with black stripe wire on the lower right side. </td></tr></table>

    (1) Can be removed (no longer necessary)

    (2) Should have been grounded to block (this was a lead for the detonation controller)

    (3) Ignore... no longer used

    (4) Can be removed (no longer necessary)

    (5) * Can be removed. NOTE- AND VERY IMPORTANT: There should be a short jumper (white w/black stripe) jumping between the two switch boxes. VERY critical.
