    Mercury System Link Guages

Can you use them without a SC1000 guage? I'm looking for a way to display engine temperature and water pressure without having to fork over the $$$ for a complete MercMonitor system (which is ideal). Money is tight and I'm not really interested so much in the addidional information it would provide. I'm mostly looking to keep myself out of mechanical trouble so to speak.

You either have to go with a Monitor or Speed & Tach..The link gauges require the SC tach to drive them.. The standard monitor is the most reasonable way to go..

Actually... it CAN be done (theoretically). It is not, however, the PREFERRED method.

To accomplish an installation of ONLY System Link Gauges, you would need:

    -Appropriate data cable w/terminating resistors
-Chosen SC100 System Link Gauges (you choose)
-8M0052774 System Link Adapter Harness (allows SC100 System Links to drive WITHOUT a primary Smartcraft Instrument in the system).

Add those components up.... and you could have purchased a decent, entry-level Smartcraft Instrument.
