System link gauges do not work

I just had a 2009 Verado 250 installed on my boat. It came with the SC 1000 tach and Speedo. I bought a voltmeter, engine temp and oil pressure gauges to install in place of old analog gauges. I connected them to the connector labeled "system link" but they do not work. Is there a setting that needs to be turned on or something I need to do to get them to work?

    Welcome to BBC!

Please check to ensure that the harness you're connecting to is on the System TACHOMETER. Also, please inspect the ends of the System Tach Harness. One end is market "Junction Box", and the other is marked "Gauge". It MUST be installed in this fashion, ON the System Tach (not the System Speedo).

Most errors are related to a failure to follow the above requirements.

It is connected to the tach and the end marked gauge is connected to the gauge. I connected the first gauge to the connector marked "system Link" and the next gauge daisy chained to the first. I tried disconnecting the other gauges and only the volt gauge but it still does not work.

Re: System link gauges do not work (rlsole)

There are a number of possibilties here:

    -Faulty Harness
-Harness NOT ACTUALLY CONNECTED to the System TACH (critical)
-Faulty VOLT gauge (not passing signal through)
    -Faulty System Tach Instrument

Unfortunately, in many cases, the only means of testing is by utilizing "known good components".

You might also try disconnecting ALL connections from the junction box (KEY OFF, PLEASE), and then reconnecting them. Also disconnect/reconnect connections at the System Tach and System Speed gauges.

Occassionally, small amounts of corrosion can build in the connectors due to moisture, and may inhibit proper data transmission/reception.
