I have always heard to store full, otherwise the temp changes will cause condensation in the tank.
I think it depends on how long you are going to be storing it. Full tank or not i think the octane levels will still drop. Safest bet would be to empty it and start out fresh. If you do leave it full make sure to stabilze it .I blew my motor back in june and decided to take all the fuel out dont want to take the risk with old fuel" better safe than sorry" like everybody says.![]()

i'll proably store it from december to febuary with out taking it out. So what do u think. the boat is outside if that makes a difference
If anything i would fill it to the brim and add the stabilizer. Im kind of new at this ,just got an 04 21xdc with a 250 xs on it back in october of 07 the motor blew in june. The owner didnt tell me that he was adding seafoam to every fill. But with all the bad gas going around there has been some issues with motors so take the steps of takin care of the thing that makes it go. Just a little learning lesson for me so wanted to share. Gettin the motor back from Eric Simon in a couple weeks .Gonna do all i can to keep in the greatest running condition.![]()

If i have let the boat sit for a month do you think that the gas is bad yet. I haven't had it out in a month and haven't had a chance to add any stablizer.
If you have alittle amount of gas in the tank i personally would take the time to get it out. Put the old gas in your rig or use it for your yard equipment. It is pretty easy to do. It took me about an hour to get most of the gas out ,then take the tank out and empty the rest. Sounds like alot of work ,but is very simple. What kind of boat and motor do u have?

i have a yamaha pro V that i just finished breaking in the powerhead and haven't had it out since. only has had a tank and a half of gas through it.
i roughly have a half a tank of gas in there.
Please do yourself and the motor a favor .Take it out! After hearing about how gas can loose its octain after a couple weeks i wouldnt trust month old gas. .I will never take the risk again. Especially with a new powerhead. Take out as much of the old gas put new in and treat it with the correct additives. Let me know how it goes.![]()

I would take it out also. I used to leave it in (full tank stabilized\0 but \i was always suspect of that first tank in the spring. I now empty after I've fogged the engine.

I live in Michigan my bullet is gagage kept and I still empty the tank.
Empty all gas run a mixture of race fuel and the new green Stabil through the injectors while fogging the motor. The new gas with 10% ethanol attracts water like a sponge. Next year run Seafoam and green Stabil every gallon of gas.Enrico![]()
I don't trust any gas more than 3wks old in my motor.
I empty the tank after I winterize. In the spring I put a few gallons in it and then pump that out to "flush" it a bit to get rid of most of the water that may have condensed over the winter. Having an electric fuel pump makes things go alot easier. I burn all the old fuel in my vehicles, pre-mix and all, w- no problems.
