My wife and I recently visited the New Orleans area and asked about some things to see and places to eat while there. The response from the BBC community was outstanding and helped make our visit much more enjoyable. Great recommendations on restaurants guided us to some out of the way spots we would have never found otherwise. So, this is a big THANK YOU to all of the BBC'ers who helped us out.

I wanted to say a special THANK YOU to BARRY J and Thefisherman64 (Jeff) for taking us out on the water and showing us around the beautiful waters you guys call home. Both trips were a big highlight of our experience there. You guys have an open spot on my boat anytime

One of these days, we'll go back. It was GREAT!! But I'm still trying to shed the extra 10lbs I gained while eating all that awesome food you guys have down there I don't know how any of you weigh less than 350lbs

So what spots did you guys eat at while you were down? Favorite meal??

I enjoyed bringing you out. You and your wife are first class. And I found out why there were so many alligator lines out. The season opened a couple of days before we went. I thought the season opened on September 1st.

Masperos, Dragos oysters, Mothers, Dry Dock for Gumbo, R & O's, and several other spots I can't remember! The Muffaletta at Central Grocery was definitely close to the top of my list. Had BBQ shrimp at a higher end restaurant and it was amazing too, but I don't remember the name of the place... Didn't have ANY bad food at all!

Thank you! You and your wife are class acts as well. Good to know about the gator lines - that was crazy to see how that is actually done

Yep - had some fine boiled seafood - don't recall exactly where since we ate about 5 times a day

Went to New orleans last night for the game. Had a damn good bowl of shrimp crab and corn soup!! Tomorrow night I am cooking a Gizzard gumbo at the camp!!!
