Motor ran bad today

Last time I used it, I ran out of gas. I was near the launch and put it on the trailer. Filled it up wit non-ethanol premium and it sat for a couple of months. This morning, it cranked right up but smoked a lot. And it woud not idle. Got up on plane and it seemed sluggish. After abot two miles it picked up 300 rpm and was running better. The rest of the day, whenever I wouod slow down it would die. It still wouoldn't idle and it started running rough. I'm hoping it's bad gas. The station is not real popular and I don't know how much premium they sell. Any ideas???? I'm gonna drain the rest of the gas and change plugs.

When it ran out were you pouring the chilli to it? Might have nipped a piston being lean .... Hope not, also could have pulled up some junk on the very bottom of the tank.

I knew I was low on fuel and trying to make it back to the ramp. Was turning about 4500rpm. Thinking about it, I did put oil in the tank before gas, so I might have picked up too much oil in the fuel system and fouled some plugs. When it warms up, I'm gonna pull the plugs and check.

Pulled the plugs. They were black and wet. I also checked the hose that goes from the computer to the horn. It had a little fluid in it and the nipple was plugged. Had that problem in the fall. Gonna get it cleaned up and change the plugs.

I idle quite allot and have to clean those fittings twice a year to maintain a good idle. The top one is usually the culprit!
