    Thermostats ?

Needed or not needed? That is the question. My water pressure runs around 15 to 17 when engine warms up, 5 to 6 when idle.
Can I take out the T-stats for a better flow of water or does there need to be a back pressure on the T-stats?
I've seen guys running a solid stream of water at an idle. Do they have to be installed? A car doesn't have to have them except for the winter time heater, what about a boat engine?

    Re: Thermostats ? (TurbineTech)

DO NOT REMOVE thermostats , they hold spent water from leaving the block until target temps are reached and the cast iron sleeve expands and the piston won't stick...

Them Mercury engineers didn't fall off a turnip truck, the T stats are there for a reason !
