Can anyone tell me how to sync the carbs on this motor please? And, what should the timing be set at WOT and at idle? Thanks for any help.

For step by step instructions get the service manual. Basically you want all the throttle plates closed at idle and make sure they all open at the same time.

The manual will give the spec for the timing when the carbs start to open or the throttle link length. I've forgotten which adjustment that motor used.

Timing if I remember correctly used to be 19° but was reduced to 17° when unleaded 87 octane came into use.

There was a service bulletin about removing the midrange jet if the motor had a bogging problem under load, such as pulling a skiier out of the water.

The throttle link length must be set to factory spec, very critical. Like Seahorse said get a good service manual.
