    Fluke stinger

When you run your hook through the nose of the fluke, slip a small trebble hook on the main hook so that it can hang underneith. Then run the main hook through the middle like normal. Skin hook the trebble so that it doesen't get tangled in you line. I like to use aberdein trebbles because they don't interfear w/ the action of the fluke. I almost never miss a hookup doing this.

    Re: Fluke stinger (shawn706)

Good Tip... When striper fishing, we just tie fluro carbon to the Dorsal hook of a Storm Wildeye 5" bait and glue the fluro line to the top of the body all the way to the tail paddle. Just using a #4 short shank bait holder hook etc, pierce the paddle tail with the hook and drop a smidgeon of glue there and you'll catch all short strikers. Glue and hook won't effect action since PRO's Soft~Bait Glue dries flexible on soft baits.

It is actually easier to glue the hook in the tail first, and then glue the line to the back of the swimbait and then tie off to the dorsal hook now that I think of it.

The Original! Pro\'s Soft Bait Glue
Keeps soft plastics on hooks like a magnet! Odorless, Stays flexible, dries clear & won\'t dry up on you.
