    Thanks to John Hibbard

You just don't run into people like John Hibbard every day. We were at KY Lake for the BASS Elite event and I had some serious boat trouble, so I took it to Jet-a-marine and pretty much thought the trip was over for me and Buck. John was leaving and offered 5 times to leave us his boat so our trip would not be cut short. On the fifth time, we took him up on it.

Thanks John for helping us out We owe you big!!!!

Re: Thanks to John Hibbard (Stratos201basser)

The first day was great! Thursday we fished a while and then went in for the weigh-in. We beached our boat right next to where the pros beached their's and watched the whole thing. We planned on following Van Dam Friday and took the boat ride from the Moor's to the Dam before daylight and while we were idling around the motor died. I tried starting it and it sounded like metal grinding so I called John Hibbard to see if he was near and he was 200 yards away, so he took Buck back to the Moor's to get my trailer and we spent the day figuring out where to leave my boat 3 and a half hours away from home.

Like I said, John left us his boat so we were in good shape to enjoy saturday, unfortunately, we had more boat trouble, so we headed back to Jet-a-marine, and then back home around 11am on Saturday.

To answer your question, maybe you should ask Joe or Doc how it was, because I don't know

Wow that was an awesome thing to do of John!! Do you have any idea what is up with your motor? What happened to Johns boat? Sounds like you guys had a black cloud over you!! I have had things go wrong while on Barkley and Jet-A took good care of me. Wish I could of been there!!

Mike, thanks for the post....even though it wasn't necessary. You are more than welcome and your thanks is more than enough....you don't owe me anything! I only wish that mine didn't develop some problems as well. (Electrical system seemed to be on the blink and telling Buck and Mike that the boat was over heating.)

When Mike gets his fixed and I get mine fixed....we're going back to Kentucky Lake as it is absolutely AWESOME!

John what you did was excellent, can't say enough about that. Mike and Buck just had some bad luck boating this weekend. And thats enough said about that.

Re: Thanks to John Hibbard (Daniel)

That was an awesome thing for Hibbard to do for Daleo and Buck. I was highly impressed. Just sorry that the guys had such a bad luck weekend. I blew a trailer tire on the WK Parkway on the way down but I definitely didn't have to deal with the kind of crap those guys did.

The trip was awesome from my end...except for having to witness everything they went through.

    John

I still amazed at you and your genorosity. I was almost in awe that you were serious about your offer. I am simply destroyed that you both had boat trouble. If you look at the whole picture I think somebody was telling Daleo and I that we were not supposed to be there. Again, I am very sorry for the boat problems but I will never forget what you did. It might have been better if Daleo had not hit that rock at 60 MPH but if you say its electrical then we will go with that. Seriosly, I am glad it is just electrical and not big engine trouble.

I am also very disappointed that we had to leave and missed hanging out with Jason, Joe, Doc, Hambone and anybody else who showed up on Saturday night. When two top of the line boats go down in back to back days and you are in both of them it causes a person to fear what might be in his future. Mike and I will be back there in three weeks though for FOM and I plan to whack em.

Re: Thanks to John Hibbard (Rippinlip)

Buck, you are welcome and really it was not a big deal. What makes the BBC so special is not that I let you guys use my boat but that the caliber of people on here make loaning your boat an easy decision. I had no trepidation what so ever because I know that Mike & Buck are both stand up guys and would treat her with respect. Thankfully you guys did not need to borrow my wife for the weekend as that would have been a little harder to do!

Also thanks for everyone elses kind comments as well, especially what Daniel said about my kids!

Again, I am sorry it didn't work out the way we planned. That's life I guess! And Buck, for the record, Mike said you hit the rocks going 60....not him!

Sorry to hear about the boat problems. John you are definately one heck of a guy to let Buck in your boat. Seriously, wished you guys could have been there Saturday. I had a blast with Doc, Hambone, Jason and Joe.

Re: Thanks to John Hibbard (Rippinlip)

We were going to call you and mike when we got to the lake on saturday but I left your phone numbers at home by the puter. It was nothing like the flw weigh in but we still had a good time. we left when ike was coming up on stage to weigh in. ok we had to go because it started to storm. We stood on the right side of the stage so we could see behind the stage were all the action was at. That was nice of John to let you have his boat.
We will catch up with you guys one of this days.

Re: Thanks to John Hibbard (mikedaleo)

Sorry to hear about your boat problems this weekend. I guess whatever disease I have caught is spreading and I may have carried it over to you guys on Thursday evening while I was there. At least you did not blow your engine like I did on Thursday morning... I was planning on coming over on Saturday evening but did not get off the water until late and was not feeling well....I may have gotten more sun than really wanted or it could have been the wave jumping out there with all the big boats running Anyway, thanks to Bob for calling me and inviting me over but since everyone was fishing late I just could not stay up too late because of feeling like crap and having to get up early again on Sunday morning to go to work....maybe next time we can plan a time and place for everyone to be for a get together...
