fuel/water filter sensor 1998 johnson ficht 150 engine

this is the plastic sensor that screws into the bottom of the fuel/water filter/separator it has a electrical plug on it, i broke mine and have looked at every b.r.p. site i can find trying to find one everybody tells me they don't make them anymore. so i taped the wire off that went to it and now my check engine light goes on and off intermittently, does any body know of a place that sells used Johnson parts that might have one or know anybody that is parting out a 98 ficht engine? i think both the 150 and 175 used the same sensor. any help appreciated. Thanks Oldfishinfool seahorse, do you happen to know what year model of the optimax engine uses the type of sensor i am talking about? even if it dont fit it shouldn't cost that much to try it and see. i have called every where trying to find a used B.R.P sensor and can not find one. The sensor fitting was also used on the '97 model but not on the '99 and later ones. Merc uses a similar part on their Optimax motors that may or may not fit.

Because your check engine light is flickering, use the software to see if its the water in fuel code or another warning to you.

thanks seahorse, bassmeister is getting the software and new cable soon and said he would pull the code for me to make sure. i would still like to find a used sensor, it just seems the check engine light problem started right after i broke the sensor while changing the filter. again Thanks oldfishinfool
