    Brake bolts seized...solution?

So here is my problem. I came home from a long trip to find that the inner bearing seal on my rear axel had let go. (99 Ranger trailer). It still had a little oil left in it so I think the bearing is still fine. No problem I thought...just pop off the hub, replace the seal and be on my way...I have done it a few years back.

The problem is that the bolts holding the brake caliper on are seized. I managed to get the easiest one off with an hours work, but I see little hope getting the other ones off. I don't have a torch to cut them off either. What are my options...thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Soak them with WD-40 or some other penetrating fluid for a couple of hours or over night and just keep after it.

There is probably red loc-tite on them. Heat it with a torch

Figured it out...first off, I was trying to remove the whole brake assembly when it is only necessary to remove the shroud and pull the pads out, then remove the front cap and spindle nut.

Next it is good to remember to put the inner bearing in place before you pound in the rear seal.

And lastly, try not to spill the bottle of 50 weight oil on the garage floor.

    Job all done!
