Sorry man, that really sucks. Been there done that a few years back. Bruce at Inland Marine gave me a great deal on a used motor. Cost me $3600 total for a 3 year newer motor. He found a buyer for the lower unit & most of the other good parts from the blown up one. That's why the cost was low. Good luck & I hope you get back on the water soon.
Damn that SUCKS Dave. I will keep an eye out for another motor.
Gonna atleast break it apart to see how bad it is. I have already found a complete rebuild kit online for a grand. That's about the cheapest I have seen so far atleast.
It is a 1994 Evinrude 150 Intruder.
Look around for a used one. I saw same motor for sale on the boards for $2500. Sell parts from yours to offset purchase price. And if you switch brands, don't forget you will need controls.
