I bought my 8yr old son a .243 Remington youth model 770 2weeks ago. I went and sighted in in today. I was shooting a Remington core-lokt 100 gr soft point and to my surprise this thing will drive tacks. I have always been an Ok shot, but this gun makes even me look good. I would highly reccommend this gun if anybody is intereseted in one for a kid .
I bought my son a remington model 700 ADL in .243 three years ago and like yours this gun flat out shoots. I had a trigger job done on it, 3 lb., and it will drive tacks. He's 10 now and his three shot group from 100 yds are all touching. I have him shooting the Federal Premium 100 gr Sierra Gameking BTSP. Good luck this season to you and your son
Just bought my daughter a NEF .243...haven't had time to shoot it yet, but hear they are pretty good rifles...it is the single shot with the bull barrel....
A buddy of mine has the same gun for his son. It is a very acccurate gun. Easy to clean also.
