reed valves?

i know this is not a motor forum, but there was no force forum. my question is, is there anyway or signs to tell if your reeds are goin bad other than taking them out and lookin?

post up in the mercury forum,,thats who made your force motor My old merc i could tell since it started running like crap the flow was wayy off,,Not sure if thats a common symtpom or not since the carbs needed cleaned severely too
