I found an awesome Basscat for sale and it has a 225HO on the back of it. The owner said it has 230 hours on it. I have not ask him if he as had it checked by a tech yet but, I would want this done before I lay the cash down. Is there any known problems with this year motor that I should be aware of? I know that at one time there was some issues with the lightening lower units but, I didn't know what year or if it was even an issue. That in advance for your advice.
Look at Snizzle's post down 10 or so below this one, it's that motor on the Jag you're looking at as well. I sold my '02 Jag last year and got a new PIV, but I'd buy another Jaguar in a minute. That boat looks like a good buy to me, I don't think it will sit still very long. Mike
Thanks I'll get it to a tech and get them to hook it up. I saw that Jag and it looks like a nice boat. I'm actually looking at a Cougar that is extremely clean. It is in St. Louis.
I hope it checks out, you can't go wrong with a Cat. I've got a 200HO on my PIV, my first Evinrude, but it's been great so far. Mike
You are right., Basscats are great boats. I'm also looking at a PIV east of St. Louis that is a sharp boat and for about the same money. I've had a few Basscats and I'm currently between boats and just now starting to look hard. I'm missing some good jerk bait fishing on Lake of the Ozarks and it is killing me.
Saw the pictures of that Cougar over on BCB, looks sharp. Good luck with whichever you pick.
