    Wall anchors??

Someone once posted a pic of a new type of super duper awesome wall anchors and I can't seem to find it. Any help?

Gotta install a new shower door in a new shower that has no solid bracing behind the panels where the door jams install. It has like a 1 inch space between it and the drywall. Also not sure if there is a stud behind it until I get a longer drill bit.

    Thanks

You're saying panels so it's safe to assume you are talking about a fiberglass surround?

A regular plastic wall anchor works fine for that. No need for some super duper wall anchor to go through the surround into the drywall of the wall. The door will be fine installed just into the fiberglass surround unit with the plastic anchor.

Ya, fiberglass panels. I installed the jams with the plastic anchors that came with the door. Jams seem a little wobbley. Just thought they need to be attached more solid.

    Thanks !!!

I agree with some type of hollow wall anchor. That's what I use on jobs. Also, if you get everything drilled and ready, depending on the type of side jamb, you can put a thin bead of polyseamseal adhesive caulk on the back side of the channel and then fasten it. After it sets up, that gives you an adhesive bond that is hidden behind the channel and you can clean anything up that slips out with water and a sponge. Won't affect things when you silicone caulk the inside.
