Motorguide 767 Pull Cord Or Others

My MotorGuide 767 was always hard to unlock or lock using the original cord. I sprayed some lube into the slots where the lock pins are, but that didn't help. After looking at how the cord is routed, I took some White Lithium Grease, pulled the cord to expose the cord that's normally in the frame and applied the grease to the cord where it makes a sharp angle going into the frame. Used a small artist type brush to apply it, don't need much, works so smooth now it only take two fingers to pull the cord and unlock. Makes the cord last longer too since it reduces the friction where the cord makes any contact on other surfaces.

Great Idea! Ive had to fight with fishing a new cable trough that maze a number of times.. Never thouhgt to grease the cord where it makes those sharp bends..
