Hey Guys,
Within the last two years, my trolling motor cord snapped more than three times on the water....leaving me to have to waste time on the water fixing it. I got an idea to make a trolling motor pull cord that won't fray, and is easier to lift the motor up and down.
I took a regular nylon cord that I found at Home Depot, and threaded it through 1/4" vinal tubing, which can also be found at home depot. I attached the cord to the handle, and the safety clip that holds the motor in place. This is what I got:

There is my solution to keeping trolling motor pull cords from fraying....all for about $5. You can also slip the 1/4" vinal tubing over your trolling motor cord that came stock with the motor.
To make the motor even easier to to pull up and down, spary a little WD-40 on the parts where the cord will touch while the motor is deployed, and where the braket hinges are.![]()
