quick tip on remembering line size on reels

If you are like me and fish the same rods with different line sizes, do what I do. I use about 6 of the same size rods and reels, because they are my favorites and I like them alot and really feel comfortable, but sometimes I get a little mixed up with which rods have what size line, since one of them has a really soft limpy line, others have a low stretch high impact, others may be 8-10-12 pound test that I really can't tell the difference anymore. I just take a little "sharpie" and write the line size on the side of my reel opposit the handle. If I change lines and need to go to something different I use that "reel magic" and it comes right off. This is just something so simple it may just make you say "why didn't I think of that". I hope it helps.

behmer, along those same lines, I use masking tape around the butt of my rod and a fine-tip sharpie. Same thing you're getting at. I had to do something. Too many rods, not smart enough to keep it all straight.
