A post on the general bassboat section reminded me that I had a tip to share

When faced with stinky anything, an easy way to kill the scent is with scent killer or similar brand spray chemical. It can be found at just about any outdoors store or catalog in the hunting section. I have used this stuff to spray on my shoes, watch bands, doggie pee in the carpet, and hands in the boat when fishing to get rid of the gas residue from the pump handle. It will get rid of any scent (at least I haven't found one that it won't), and only costs a few dollars for a large spray bottle of the stuff.
