    Boat wraps

Has anyone done a boat wrap graphic? If so how much did you pay? Does Iguana Graphics do them? Are they hard to install or do they need proffessional instals?

    Thank you for your inputs.

They do need to be professionally installed, my recommendation is to find someone close, should you have a problem with it, they can take care of it for you.

Thanks to all who replied, I will do it locally as recommended and by a proffesional. JUst trying to weight my options and trying to see what price comperasings are around the country. The guys up here in Chicago area seem to get more than south. Hopefully I can keep them honest.

    Thanks again

Here is Ohio I got two quotes.....$3000 and $3500 for my 21 footer. I know the companies that do alot of wraps charge less and are in that $2000-3000 range but I wanted to stay local.

    Re: Boat wraps (CShaver8)

This is my 2 cents for what it's worth. I own a printing company that's in the large format graphics industry but I choose not to do vehicle wraps because I don't want to take the time to learn it. My company does large posters and banners.

Vehicle wraps or boat wraps for that matter are not an easy thing to do. Almost all installers have been to some type of vendor installation school on how to install wraps. These vendors are the companies that make the equipment (Oce, Mimaki, HP, Mutoh and Epson to name a few). With any wrap it's important that whoever does the wrap has a digital template of the boat. How you get one for a boat is beyond me but I know there's companies that sell the digital templates for all makes and models on vehicles. Not sure if they sell them for boats. Without a template the wrap will be a lot harder to install and probably will not look as good. I've often wondered how or who wraps the FLW boats but I assume Ranger gave the installation company some type of digital template to go by.

I'm not an expert on this stuff by any means but my business is very close to it and I learn more about the graphics business everyday. Vehicle and boat wraps are totally different than putting some vinyl letters on a car or boat.

I live in Tulsa and we have a company here called Feller's Certified. They are the worlds largest network of wrap providers and they certify the installers. Check them out at http://www.fellerscertified.com.

Like everyone said for a full wrap don't try it, find someone in your area. You'll be money ahead. If your wanting something smaller you could possibly do it yourself. Below is something I did for a guy in Atlanta. I gave hime a few tips over the phone and sent him the graphics and some application fluid. He and a friend installed it and did a good job. If your wanting something less than a wrap then get up with Iguana Graphics.

Have a good one and thank God for it!

    Re: Boat wraps (JOHN202)

I had my boat wraped last summer. It cost me 1,500.00, but I had an agreement with the shop to school me on the installation. I made him promise me that I could put one on if and when we finished the job. I actually did install one area(Top cap),(R.S.) from the console to the bow that had the tight twist and turns. Without using the correct solutions, heat guns, and getting the material lined up correctly you are wasting your time. I also did the complete disassembly and reinstall of all items on the boat. We even took the railing off to insure a proper line and fit.

It's a job. Best I can figure it was 52-54 hours of intensive labor from start to finish.
