Lower Unit Cleaning

Motor is 10 years old have washed boat and motor pretty much after every outing probable due to age, slight water film build up on Lower unit.

Looking for suggestions/what to use on to clean lower unit.

Just yesterday I used a spray bottle labeled Kaboom. It worked great.

I had the same issue with mine, I tried some of the industrial type cleaners/degreasers on mine such as Purple Power,Mean Green,etc. with no luck, not saying the Kaboom or Simple Green wont work...I ended up buying a bottle of "Hull Cleaner" made by Attwood Marine (purchased it at the local Wal-Mart)...It worked great, I used a 2 sided sponge, 1 side being a scrubber, the other side just the sponge...I applied it with the scrubber part, you dont have to use alot of elbow grease, this stuff does most of the work...Make sure to rinse it really good, then after it dried I used Meguires Cleaner Wax and a wax applicator pad to actually clean the paint...then just applied a coat of Attwood Marine Polish, due both just like your waxing your truck....Purchased both the polish and wax from the local Wal-Mart...after the job was complete (30 minutes), my lower unit looked brand new again...Hope this helps!!
