Before I started You could feel the flake . I did no sanding You can see yourself in the shine now . Flitz is not a rubbing compound I also use it on the Harleys

    Re: (PBR)

How did u apply this? Did u use a high speed buffer, would opt to do this on my 92 Skeeter, not fond of wet sanding, feel like I'd butcher that. Have some slight oxidation on the top rail - some areas are a bit cloudy and rough to the touch, would u recc. using this for something like this. I take it it's safe for a gelcoat. Any info the better. Looks like it came out great - I'd love to see my gelcoat sparkle again like that.

Flitz is some good stuff but I feel it is an after the fact product. I'd rather spend the time wet sanding to remove the cancer and then use a product like Flitz to buff up.

West marine . Not cheep . Mostly used by car show and motor cycle guys . The USCC in are area uses it . As stated before Flitz is not a compound. This stuff is smooth If you have Foggy Head light covers this stuff will make them clear again. An orbital machine dose not work . You need a good buffer The one that I am using is about a 20 yr old B&D 7 " polisher 2450 rpm With a 3M pad

Flitz is a great product, it is a very light buffing/rubbing compound similar to 3M Finesse It.
Only diffeence in the two is Flitz has no light solvents in it .

Both are Petroleum based polish/compounds with Aluminum Oxide as the polishing agent.

Fairly exspensive though, a can the size in the photo runs around $ 50.00.

WOuld you reccomend using the Flitz to bring back some life in the gelcoat, I am aware this process would need to be repeated in the future, but not wanting to wet sand - dont have the balls for that

Wet sanding is not that big a deal. Just take your time and sand till it feels smooth, and the residue quits being real "milky". I did the entire top cap / top of gunwale (rail). Used only three sheets of 1500, and it only took a couple hours.

I get Flitz from gun stores. It also works to polish gun bores. I can remove black marks, small imperfections in gel coat, and shine up your chrome or cast aluminum. It is not cheap but you don't use that much of it.
