I was told by the pervious owner that he had the transom replaced which cost $1800. I found a crack on it is this something I need to worry about?

I would say that the chunk in the top photo sould be repaired. It is down to the fiberglass matting and at least needs to be sealed with Marine Tex. Can't tell about the rest of it. Most of it probably occured before the transom repair. If they are new then you may have other issues.

The thickness of the alunimum "TRIM" piece appears as though someone may have been trying to make up for some strength issues.(JMO) The sharp corners should also be rounded off so they won't gouge the hull.(also JMO)

Talk to a guy at the dealer and he also suggest West Marine Expoy with filler. Since I was going to need some to seal my deck extension anyway. Can that be colored to match the color of the boat?

I believe West Marine now carries West System Products and you can call them and find out anything you will need to know. I just used it and so far it seems to be doing the job. I believe you can color it but it is epoxy not gel coat so it is more flexible.
