Removing the deck off of a tracker tx-17

I also posted this in the "Tin boat" forums.

Does anyone know how to get the front deck off of a 93 tracker tx 17. I see the screws to remove but im not sure how to then get the deck off as i cannot slide the deck back since it will hit the console.

I also cannot lift the deck up off since the lip on the sides go all the way down to the deck?

Any suggestions?

This picture is not my boat but it is the same type/model.

Have you removed the carpet? Maybe the deck is in two or three pieces?
If thats the case you should be able to take the deck out in pieces.

I have not removed the carpet yet. I was wondering myself if it was in 2 pieces but i couldnt see any screws holding the deck down in the middle, just around the edge. That dang lip around the outside is whats making me go crazy.

Hard to tell with the carpet on, but it looks to me that the deck goes under the rails. If that's the case then you might have to remove the console and then the deck slides back until it clears the rails.

The Army in the infinite wisdom blocked tinboats from me. I made one post and now I can't even get on to read it.

I too would be interested to find out how you remove the deck as well. I have a 94 TX 18.

Its going to be a week or 2 yet before i attempt to pull that off but i will let everyone know how it goes. I would think im going to have to pull that console shell off, slide it back and then pull it up.

One thing im wondering about is how much of that console im going to have to pull off, hopefully just the blue covering would suffice.

had a 90 model just like that same deck took to a guy to recarpet he had to take console completely out to recover deck
