Wood deck replacement on 1984 Tracker tin boat.

What thickness plywood was used on these boats? And is Marine ply required if this boat is going to be covered and garaged?

Also should I paint or watertreat the wood prior to installation in boat to prevent any root?

I plan a full resto-mod to my old tired tracker. Looking to build a nice River boat out of it.

you will have to pull back some of the carpet and checking the thickness of the flooring. you really should look around at some of the alternative materials being used for flooring but if your bucks' are on a budget then get some 3/4 or 5/8 (depending on how it is supported)medium grade plywood and put several good coats of paint or clear coat on it..especially IN the edges. remember to countersink all or your screws . I just used the 'liguid nails' carpet glue to redo my front carpet using a 1/8" tooth paddle to smooth the glue out (piece of cake). remember to seal the wood, seal the edges where the wood and the metal boat come together , and get crazy with it....do stuff that only you would think of or notice!!!

I would use 3/4" treated plywood. Dry it out real good a seal it. I used epoxy resin on my floor and then countersunk all the screw heads and put a layer or two of fiberglass tape over the screw heads and seams, with more epoxy resin. Ain't no water getting in there!! You don't have to go to this extreme, but I would definately find a way to seal it.
