    Johnson 115 question

I have a question about something that happened at the lake a couple weeks back. I made a 10 mile run and it ran perfect. On my way back as i got up to full speed my motor started missing a bit and losing speed a little. This was only at full throttle. When I went down to 3/4 throttle it ran perfect. I then decided to drop down and fish for a while and then made another 3 mile run and the motor ran perfect at full speed. Seemed kind of strange to me. I will say that we had a ton of rain prior to that trip and there was a good bit of debris in the water. Is it possible that i had a minor block in my intake and was unable to get enough water to run full speed? Any ideas on what it may be would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to take it in to the shop if i don't need to. Got a youngun' on the way and am trying to be tight with $. Thanks in advance for your help.

Which 115? Couple different flavors of them. If you over temped it would have gone into SLOW mode and only let you run about 2500 RPM until cooled down. May have been some trash in the bowls.

Championman, sounds crazy to not no which one i have but i don't! I just went out and looked at it and can't find a particular model. Serial # and such but nothing else. It's an 01 and it's grey and red. I bought it used a couple years back and it has really been great. I keep it serviced and it's always run like a top. Hoping this was just something temporary and minor.

    Re: (plang)

An 01 helps right there tells me it is a 60 * 115 like the intruders. Could be some junk in the carbs, couple things to keep in mind for possible issues could be a pack starting to go out or possibly a fuel pump issue. Best bet is to run it and see how it come out. BTW your model number is on the tag with your serial number J115XXXX where X=letters.
