Restoring My Ranger 481V. Ranger says they do not have ANY decals for the top cap. I found that hard to believe. I even tried to buy anything with a 4 a 8 a 1 and a V in it. NO LUCK. I could get some made, but I wanted some OEM. The raised plastic ones. Thanks for any help.

i had the same problem I just decided not to put the 481 back on, but the domed decals in the font you wan will work perfectly
Uf you have a picture go to a shop that make custom decals, like people put on cars and trucks. bigbasser

I had the same problem about a year ago. I took a piece of paper (Tape two sheets of copy paper together at the corners) and pencil/crayon, then tape the piece of paper over the the Ranger 481V lettering. Then take the pencil/crayon and color over the decals (it is like your shading in an area). When you are done you will have a duplicate copy of the Ranger lettering. Then I took mine to the local design and signs place and they made me a couple of sets. Total cost $38.00, oh and the paper and pencil.

I was able to find OEM decals for my 1993 Merc through Supreme Marine. Give them a try. They didn't have them, but he chased them down for me. Good guys.
