We started from Tera Miranda at safe light. Though out the day the winds increased and open water limited your ability to fish some parts of the lake. The water was stained or murky in most areas and there was some debris in the water. We fished several coves south of where we started then crossed the open water to fish some areas just past Sailboat bridge. We caught three keepers. The largest came on a chart spinner-bait slow rolled across a boat ramp on Wheels first cast of the day. I later caught a smaller fish of a gravel shore in shallow water with a watermelon spider grub. In the second cove we fished Wheels caught a nice fish on a watermelon poca-craw. Our nicest fish of the day escaped. Wheels was throwing a Zoom crawfish, black with chart pinchers. He was hooked right at the bank behind a log. I saw him come up and over the log and could see he was a nice fish, probably 5 to 5 and a half pounds. I started to look for the net, but we had put it away before we crossed the water. By this time Wheels had his fish right next to the boat and reached into the water to lip him. He said that just as he touched his lower lip the fish worked free.
I think most boats in the Rally caught fish. Wheels will probably post the official results later, but the winner had between 15 and 20 lbs. The big Bass was about 5.25.
It was a great time and you should try to make the next Rally.
