    Finally made it...

Just completed the Move from Mobile A to egg harbor city NJ. Trying to get settled in, the BassCat is tucked away in the garage and i have no idea when and what lakes im gonna get out on first, looks like the closest option to me to be able to run the boat a little bit is the delaware river. Anyways just stopped in to say hey...though it looks like nobody is in here.

    WHY??? WHY??? WHY???
Hope you had a real good reason to move from somewhere that has places to fish with a real boat. Good luck anyway and welcome to the neighborhood. You will find it's nothing like the TV programs.

your not too far from the Upper Chesapeake...good tidal fishery right there. And the Potomac is not too too far either. Lots of club tournies on both as well as the Delaware. You just have to get your head right if your gonna fish the Delaware...little less weight there as compared to AL im sure Welcome to the garden state though. If you wanna venture up north give me a shout.

Yeah Chesapeake is cool. Lots and I mean lots of water to fish. Only thing about tidal water is you can go from hero to zero in a hurry. Its fun though.

welcome to jersey man. check out union lake in millville. u can run up to a 9.9hp in there even tho im sure your big boat has a bigger motor. get yourself a john boat and a little trolling motor and you'll fit right in fishing the smaller lakes and farm ponds. good luck brother

    Re: (CRrider2291)

Thanks man! Ive been out to the delaware a few times now and feel right at home there with the tidal waters. As most have said the fishing there is tough and a "good size" fish seems to be in the 1.5-2.5 range. I plan on venturing down to the upper chesapeake my next few trips, if i can get on the fish over there like they have been catching in the tournaments, then my days of fishing the delaware may be over .

I am absolutely dumbfounded by how many smaller lakes here you can run a small boat with a 9.9 hp at 10 mph, but i cant run my boat at idle speed (3-4 mph). Guess im gonna stick with the larger rivers and bays. I have good things about Union lake as well as lenape lake. Maybe one day ill get out on them.
