It's finally over - the decision has been made!

Well, for those who have offered so many great responses to all my questions and put up with my frustrations, the saga is finally over…

In speaking with my dealer last Sunday at the local Annual Sports Show, he informed me of a conversation he had with Ranger Boats regarding my issue, and they were very adamant about their stand on this issue . The do NOT want me to hang the F225 w/jackplate on my 210 Reata, as they feel it may effect the balance of the boat and could lead to warranty issues (I’m guessing hull warrant), so that provided me with the final piece of information I needed to make my decision.

I contacted the good people at Yamaha and informed them I was going with the 225 HPDI, which will be a 2006 and therefore included the ability to add the Command Link™ accessories some day. They were very good about my decision and promised to make sure it is mounted and dialed in for me. They even offered to install a water filter for the motor – THANKS YAMAHA!!!!!

Now I just have to wait for the paperwork to be completed and the engines swapped and rigged.

I don't think you will be disapointed with the HPDI. I think the long shaft on that F225 would have really messed you up trying to set it up to run right. Those HPDI are really good motors!

    Hey Scott,

Did you get your new motor mounted?

Awesome! I have no doubt that you'll be happy that you went with the HPDI instead of the F225.
