    Collegiate Help! ESPNU Tournament

Hey Guys, my name is Mitch Kistner, I am the president of the Arizona State University Bass Fishing Team and we will be fishing the ESPNU Smashmouth Collegiate championship...hopefully.

The thing is, is that as of now we do not have a boat to fish from. We drove to Texas a few weeks ago with our boats for the FOX College Sports Tourney and missed a week of school, so in order to fish this tournament we will need to fly out there and not drive, as we would miss too much school.

We are waiting on word from a local Boat Dealership out in Little Rock if they will give us a loaner boat, but it is coming so far down to the wire we need to get a boat. The tourney is on the Arkansas River, Little Rock region.

If anyone has a boat that we could borrow from Wenesday Morning (Oct 17th) - Either Friday evening or Saturday Evening, depending if we make the top five or not, or you know anyone who would be willing to help us out, please let me know , it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

    Tight Lines,
    Mitch Kistner

Dude, you sure are asking alot. The Arkansas River is known for chewing up boats, and spittin em out. Good luck.

Wasnt aware of that until today when I started reading a bunch of posts and looking at more detailed maps.

There were some teams in Texas who got boats to borrow from local anglers for Lake Lewisville, which is full of stump fields, so thought I would ask.

It would definately be appreciated, and me and my team mate both own Rangers and are very experienced boaters. FYI.

I am not a "first timer" persay, me and my partner both are experienced anglers and boaters, fishing tournaments, and fishing the Colorado River out here which is full of backwater and sandbars. I understand the concern with navigating unfamiliar waters though.

In any case, Triton Boats was able to help us out with a loaner boat. Thanks for the responses though. Tight Lines all.

That's great news Crankit3! Good luck with your tourney! I hope you enjoy this part of the country. It is beautiful here. I was in Cali/Arizona for awhile and had a great time. The beauty of each state is so different. Be sure and let us know how you do here. I have never fished the Little Rock area so I would be interested in hearing the outcome.

Thanks Mary. It should be interesting. We have talked to a few people and have come up with a semi planned prefish for Wednesday.

So if anyone has tips on the Arkansas River near/around Little Rock, any tipa would be appreciated. thanks.

You might try just upstream from the I-440 Brige on the north side of the river there are rows of pilings there that I've always done good on. Also on down river around the canal going into the industrial park is usally pretty good. Several of our club tx have been won across the river from the ALLTELL ramp area.
