This is Eric Hickman Jr. with the L-Raisin' Anglers of UofL. Myself and Kyle from UofK have been trying to form a state rivalry tournament for all the universities in Kentucky that have a bass fishing team. We have set a date for June 25 at Barren River Lake. So far we have atleast three schools participating, UL,UK,&EKU, and in contact with Murray and WKU. This is something that will be an annual event to decide who the state champions are. My question to those of you on the board is this, do you know of a company or league in which would be interested in hosting this event? With hosting I mean doing the weigh-in, launch, forms, trophies, door prizes, etc. In return the company who does host it would be able to promote their company and product however they wish. This is going to gain alot of media attention with newstations, newspapers, and universities (I know from Louisville it will). Think of the exposure this will bring! We are some college students trying to form this, get it going, and need a little help. We do not want the responsibility of hosting it to fall on the shoulders of one university, we will help out the host in organizing it, but basically we want to show up and fish!
