I just bought a '98 295 Stratos with a 200 Venom, didn't need a boat but couldn't pass up the deal. Can someone tell me about the Venom motors, I don't really know much about them?
Thanks!!!

Good motors tons of torque, it is a carbed motor and they like the gas. Keep your foot out of it and you'll save at the pump. Run a good oil in it like BRP XD-50 and de-carb it once a season.
What do you think about Royal Purple oil? It's actually not too bad on gas, it's even better than the Yamaha 150 VMax I have on my Nitro. I'll more than likely be getting rid of that boat though, the Stratos is a way better riding boat.
I'm not a fan of aftermarket stuff, EP AKA Gearcase man is a believer in the Purple stuff in the GC. I haven't tried it,,no controversy but I stick with BRP lubes.![]()

Also, what plugs do you use in the 200 Venom? It shows 3 different ones in the manual.
