Best Blank?

I asked this in the lounge and mainly got Lounge replies.

I am looking at maybe getting a couple more custom rods for my local bud that builds em. He can get several different blanks.

Nowadays....who makes a really good blank? US made. I have an old G Loomis, 2 St Croix SCIII and 2 rainshadows.

I have been talking with Matt Cashion too with those carbon fiber rods look sweet. Where is MHX blanks made?

MHX are made in China...not a bad blank for the money I have a few.

Phenix and North Fork Composites are very nice blanks

Falls Lake isn't too far from the rod builder expo http://www.icrbe.com/ you might go check it out.

Castaway is made in the U.S.A. and some Batson blanks I think are made here. I build on both and really like them. St. Croix has great blanks most are made here.

I think Castaway imports the blanks from China and builds them here.

Talon, St. Croix, North Fork, Lamiglas and the RX8+ series from Rainshadow are USA made blanks. There are others, but they're not coming to me at the moment.

MHX, American Tackle, Pac bay and all the other Rainshadow models are imports.

I was also under the impression that the Castaway blanks were imported and the rods built in the USA, but I could be mistaken.

Castaway blanks are made in China. Some years back they were made in the USA by Shikari until Shikari went out of business. All of Castaways high end and Skeleton series of rods are built in their plant in Texas but the blanks are made in China.

North Fork Composites HM is the best thing i've ever used and i've used em all.

I like castaway rainshadows and mudholes

IMO all are just as nice as any IMX
